2-year-old found safe after search in Greensburg

Child went missing Thursday afternoon

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – An extensive search took place after a 2-year-old boy was reported missing in Decatur County on Thursday. 


The child was reported missing around 1 p.m. from a home in the area of 2000 W. County Road 600 South. 


Numerous agencies responded and searched the area. 


The boy was found at a neighbor’s house around 2:15 p.m. 


Deputies say the child had entered through a dog door. The child was found unharmed and asleep. 


The agencies involved were the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department,. Greensburg Police, Greensburg, Fire, Decatur County EMA, Letts Volunteer Fire, Westport Police, Clarksburg Fire, DNR, Indiana State Police, Department of Child Services, Decatur County Highway Department, the Decatur County/ Greensburg IT Department and Decatur County Dispatch.
