Search warrants conducted in Versailles and Jefferson County
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- Three people have been arrested following a road rage incident in Lawrenceburg on August 7.
Police say shots were fired during the altercation on U.S. 50.
Police initially released surveillance photos of the suspected car hoping somebody would recognize the vehicle.
The Ford Focus was found abandoned at the Versailles State Park by a park ranger, police said.
"Evidence that the vehicle had been involved in a shooting was located inside
the vehicle," investigators said.
Police identified Anthony Boyer as the registered owner of the Ford Focus.
Authorities believe Boyers roommate, Joshua Orrantia, was the driver during the road rage incident.
.
"Law enforcement further learned that Orrantia had recently been involved
with gunshots and firearms incidents in Versailles," police said.
Investigators said Orrantia was in a relationship with Ashley Raymer who helped discard the vehicle at the state park.
Boyers, Orrantia and Raymer were believed to be living at Tanglewood Apartments in Versailles.
A search warrant was held Tuesday at Tanglewood Apartments and Boyer and Raymer were arrested.
Police found out Orrantia was at a home in Jefferson County. Authorities say he fled into the woods during the search warrant but was later arrested.
All three suspects are charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, pointing a firearm, criminal recklessness, obstruction of justice and assisting a criminal.
