Business awarded for longevity and community service
(ST. LEON, Ind.) -- A family-owned gas station in St. Leon is one of only 38 Indiana businesses recognized by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb on Wednesday.
Alig Shell was a recipient of the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business Award which was given at the Statehouse.
The business, also known as KJMD Enterprises, has been a part of the St. Leon community for 85 years.
"Each year it is truly an honor to recognize these organizations that have withstood the test of time, navigated economic uncertainties and demonstrated unconditional commitment to their employees and communities across Indiana,” said Governor Holcomb.
The award recognizes businesses that remained in operation for a minimum of 50 consecutive years and have demonstrated a commitment to community service.
Another Dearborn County business also received the award Wednesday. Read about Top Quality Building Products in Greendale.
