Alzheimer's awareness golf outing held at North Branch

Written by The 812's Kenzie Ogden

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Community members gathered at North Branch Golf Course to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s disease on Saturday.

Kristy and Nathan Crum organized the event to gather donations for the 2024 Walk to End

Alzeimer’s which will take place at Liberty Park in Batesville on August 24.

Alzheimer's is a cause that Kristy holds closely, after losing her grandmother to the disease in 2015.

“Just by going through hole sponsors, I’ve had people tell me that they’ve lost family members or friends to the disease too,” she said. “It’s a cool connection for something that doesn’t have as much awareness as it should.”

Participants at the event included 17 teams of four. Each hole at North Branch was sponsored by local businesses and individuals.

Another opportunity to support Alzheimer's disease is upcoming with an all-day fundraiser at Ison’s Family Pizza. On May 15, ten percent of all proceeds will go toward the walk.
