Applications being taken for new Westport Council seats

Two new seats added after November election

(WESTPORT, Ind.) -- Westport residents voted to expand the Town Council from three members to five members during the November 7 election.

Residents interested in applying for a council seat may submit a letter of interest to the Westport Town Council or drop off at Westport Town Hall by 5 p.m. on December 8.

The Westport Town Council will appoint the two new members during a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on December 11 at the Westport Community Building.

"Any persons aggrieved by the proposed actions or members of the public appearing at the hearing shall have a right to be heard in respect of these proposed actions," a Town official said.
