Area firefighters participate in state training

Several departments were represented at the training

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Some area firefighters used their free time this weekend to improve their skills when it comes to saving lives. 

The Lawrenceburg Fire Department, in conjunction with the State of Indiana, conducted a training program for firefighters within the District 9 area. 

Despite the cold temperatures, firefighters from several local departments took part in the training. 

Firefighters came from New Trenton, Batesville, Greensburg, Lawrenceburg, Greendale, and Rising Sun, along with some others who traveled a further distance. 

Instructors traveled from as far away as Indianapolis and taught various scenarios.

The training was paid for by the State of Indiana and the Lawrenceburg Fire Department hopes to use their partnership to provide more future trainings for area firefighters.
