Batesville 8-year-old earns Ohio Valley kart racing trophy

McBride is a Batesville second-grader

(WEST CHESTER, OH.) – Batesville was represented in a big way during the Ohio Valley Karting Association (OVKA) annual banquet on Saturday night. 


The banquet recognized the best racers on the OVKA circuit this past season. 


8-year-old Hunter McBride is a second grader at Batesville Primary School who has found a passion for racing. 


This past season, he won all 12 OVKA races he competed in and won the 206 Kids Kart division. 


In December, he also had a chance to race his go-kart at Daytona International Speedway. 


McBride accepted the OVKA trophy for the Kids Kart division championship on Saturday night and here was his acceptance speech:
