Food and fishing follows service
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A non-denominational church will celebrate its first anniversary on Sunday in a unique way.
One Purpose Church meets at the Gibson Theatre in Batesville at 10 a.m. every Sunday.
This Sunday marks their one-year anniversary and they are taking the church service outside.
It will be at Pastor Chad Schwering’s home which is located just south of Batesville.
After the service, they will host baptisms in the pond and kids and adults are encouraged to bring fishing poles to fish in the pond.
The pastor has even promised to give a cash prize to whoever can catch the one albino catfish that is in the pond.
“For those considering coming, this would be one of the very best times to join us because it’s outdoors where we can enjoy Gods beautiful creation, the service will have a tent revival feel with a come as you are atmosphere,” Schwering said. "We never hold back the truth of the Bible and this week will be no different!”
Church members will bring food for everyone and anyone is welcome to attend.
“There will be plenty of time after the service for fellowship, food, and fishing,” he added.
This weekend’s service will take place at 109 W. County Road 925 N. in Batesville.
His home is located off of State Road 229 just south of Ballstown. The service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday.
