Batesville golfer tied for 2nd in IHSAA State Championship

Tournament started Friday and will continue Saturday

(CARMEL, Ind.) -- The IHSAA Girl's Golf Championship continues into the second and final day on Saturday.


After the first round, one of three local golfers is ranked among the best in the competition, which features 108 student-athletes.


Batesville sophomore Ava South is tied for second place with a score of +1. She trails the leader Samantha Brown of Westfield.


South finished third overall during the state championship last year.


Two other local golfers are competing in the tournament. Batesville junior Addyson Weiler is tied for 19th and East Central sophomore Rowan Pies is currently tied for 28th.



The tournament will end on Saturday afternoon.
