Will compete this coming weekend
(INDIANAPOLIS) – An incoming Batesville senior competed against the best high jumpers in the state on Saturday.
Ayden Eckstein was among Indiana juniors and seniors who qualified for the tournament at Marian University.
During the competition, he set a personal record and earned the opportunity to compete at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Philadelphia this coming weekend.
“I am just really lucky to be able to go, and nice to see some of my work pay off. It goes to show if you keep working hard you will see results,” Eckstein told The 812.
He is scheduled to compete in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Ayden is entering his senior year and is hoping to get an opportunity to compete in Men’s High Jump at a division one university.
Last year, Greensburg’s Emarie Jackson competed at the national tournament in Philadelphia and was named National Champion in shotput. She will be throwing discus at the University of Delaware this fall.
So how high can he jump?
