Listen to 'You Are Now' here:
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – What did you do for your girlfriend or wife on Valentine’s Day?
I bet you didn’t write a love song for her.
Travis Fassold, of Batesville, wrote a song to his wife, Andrea, and it wasn’t even for Valentine’s Day!
Fassold started playing music as a teenager and performed around the area.
Travis was recently strumming on his guitar and was thinking how he could start a song that was about Andrea.
“I was sitting there thinking what I could say to her, and thought about how I used to party and used to play music in the bars. It made me realize what a contrast that is between then and now," he said.
“I don't tell a lot of people this but I was thinking, ‘What could I say to God that I can also say to her."
He recorded the song at Matt Pennington’s music studio near Brookville. Travis credits Matt along with Brandon Powell who helped with the music production.
While Travis is on the vocals and guitar, Ryan Baker also played guitar, Steve Ludwig played the percussion, and Heath Hopkins played the upright bass.
He released the song in early March and the music video was filmed at a location in Lawrenceburg.
Travis has a passion for music and also owns his own business, Fassold Flooring Installation.
'You Are Now' is not the first song Travis wrote. He also recorded 'Kentucky Woman' in honor of his grandmother. You can listen to that here.
