Visited Hanover during the tornado
(HANOVER, Ind.) – A tornado touched down near Madison around 2 p.m. on Thursday.
It was in the area of Hanover and several homes sustained damage.
The storms happened right when Batesville junior Clara Black was beginning her tour of Hanover College.
She first noticed that her phone went off with an alert. Then Clara and her family were rushed to the basement of an administration building.
Clara recalls how it was an interesting dynamic of emotions in the basement.
“One person was upset over her dog being in danger while another was chilling out eating a piece of derby pie. Then, I heard a short sermon about Job from a different man who also there,”
After the tornado threat, her tour continued as planned. Hanover College even gave her a cookie, a sweatshirt, and an umbrella!
Black added that it will be a college visit that she will never forget!
