Batesville native Bryan Hoeing headlines U of L dinner

Marlins pitcher is a Louisville alum

(LOUISVILLE, KY.) – Batesville native Bryan Hoeing headlined a University of Louisville baseball function this weekend. 

He was one of two guests of honor for the program’s Leadoff Dinner on Friday, which is held ahead of the college baseball season every year. The other guest of honor was Bobby Miller of the Los Angeles Dodgers. 

After graduating from Louisville, Hoeing made his major league appearance for the Miami Marlins in 2022 and has appeared in more than 40 MLB games in the past two years. 

Hoeing is hopeful to earn a spot on the Marlins big league roster this spring training.
