Schrader on the cover of Woman's World

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- A Batesville native is featured on the cover of a national magazine this week.

Debbie Schrader is on the cover of Woman's World magazine, which is an American supermarket weekly publication with a circulation of 1.6 million readers.

She is recognized for losing over 130lbs by taking on the simple strategy of eating better and going on lots of walks.

"It is very exciting, humbling. I never in my wildest dream thought I would be on cover of a magazine and a two page article. I still don't believe it," Debbie said.

We asked what advice she has for someone who wants to have a more healthy lifestyle.

"My best advice is if you are ready to do this, you have to put your mind to it. There will be bumps in the road, and highs & lows," she said. "It is a journey and lifestyle change. It is not a race. If you need support, I am here for you!! If I can do this, anyone can."

The 59-year-old now lives in the Cincinnati area but wants people to know that she misses her hometown of Batesville and the people she grew up.

Schrader added, "Batesville is a great place to grow up in."

The magazine is available at most grocery stores in the area and is she is on the October 2nd issue.
