Homeowners encouraged to participate
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Batesville Post Office will participate in a unique food drive on Saturday.
The post office is participating in the national Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive on May 11.
Letter carriers will collect non-perishable food that is left by mailboxes.
To participate, just place the food in a bag and leave it next to your mailbox on Saturday. The carrier will pick it up and it will be delivered to a local food pantry by the post office.
The national drive has brought in nearly 2 billion pounds of food the past 30 years.
