Batesville siblings qualify for Regional Spelling Bee

Updated: Feb 26

They will compete among the best spellers in the Tri-State

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A Batesville family is certainly raising their children to know proper spelling and grammar.

Batesville Middle School sixth grader Yul Choi and his sister, Yireh, have both qualified for the WCPO 9 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee.

Yul is no stranger to the spelling bee as he also qualified as a fifth grader in 2023.

Yireh is a fourth grader at Batesville Intermediate and is following in her brother’s footsteps.

The siblings will compete among the best spellers in the Tri-State on March 9.

Yul and Yireh both have a chance to advance from there and compete in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. on May 28.
