Named District 8 Superintendent of the Year
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville Schools Superintendent Paul Ketcham has been awarded the District 8 Superintendent of the Year by a committee of his own peers.
Ketcham is one of only eight superintendents recognized statewide by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS).
The award means he could be selected as Indiana’s superintendent of the year, which will be announced later this month.
He was selected for the school’s success in a rural community, along with the partnership with Ivy Tech and the unique Mandarin Chinese program that Batesville offers.
“His efforts to maximize limited financial resources while achieving exceptional student outcomes have significantly impacted the Batesville community and set a standard for others to follow,” an IAPSS representative said.
Ketcham has served as BCSC superintendent since 2017 and previously served in the same role at Milan.
He is also recognized for his community involvement which includes President of the Batesville Kiwanis, board member of the Batesville Area Arts Council, Ripley County Health Department and he also serves on the Governor’s Workforce Cabinet, aligning educational strategies with workforce demands.
