Benefit for LPD reserve officer battling cancer Saturday

Will be held at Durbin Bowl

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A benefit will be held for a Lawrenceburg resident this weekend.

Nick Thomas is a reserve officer on the Lawrenceburg Police Department and is also the general manager at Mike’s Carwash in Lawrenceburg.

Thomas is a non-smoker who is battling stage 3 lung cancer.

There will be a benefit bowling tournament at Durbin Bowl from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.

The benefit will feature a taco nacho bar, raffles, door prizes, silent auction and more. It costs $20 for adults and $15 for children who are 10 and under.

“His medical expenses are really piling up, so his family is really hoping this benefit goes well,” a family friend told The 812.

You can get more information by contacting Christen Thomas at (513) 550-0916.

If you can’t make it, there is still a way you can help with medical expenses by clicking here.

There is also a benefit dinner scheduled for August 10 at the Dearborn County Adult Center.
