BHS grad named Indy 500 Princess

One of 33 women selected

(INDIANAPOLIS) – A Batesville graduate is among a select group of women who will serve as an Indy 500 Festival Princess. 


Sarah Ripperger has been selected for the prestigious honor, which is awarded based on academic performance, community involvement and communication skills.


Ripperger is a native of Metamora and graduated from Batesville in 2022. 


She attends Butler University and majors in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.


Ripperger will receive a $1,000 scholarship, leadership development opportunities and the ability to serve as an ambassador for the 500 Festival, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, city of Indianapolis, and the state of Indiana.


The Indy 500 is scheduled for May 26.
