Search comes to an end
(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – The family of Carson Hughes has reached out to The 812 to share that the search has come to an end.
The 18-year-old was found in the water at Versailles State Park on Sunday evening after a search that began on Friday.
Carson was an Jac-Cen-Del senior who had an incredible talent in so many ways. He became involved with The 812 because of his amazing wildlife photography skills.
Here is a snapshot of some of his work:
Carson also was a member of the Jac-Cen-Del basketball team and planned to go to Purdue next year.
While this is nothing short of a tragedy, one blessing that Carson gave is showing how special Southeast Indiana is.
Hundreds of people volunteered to aid in his search over the weekend.
Social media has been overwhelmed from the amount of support from the area.
Homeowners are displaying red and blue ribbons.
Schools like Switzerland County are encouraging their students to wear red-and-blue tomorrow in honor of Hughes.
We don't have all the words right now, but Carson was a very close friend of The 812. We will certainly be doing much more to honor him.
What a tragedy of such a young man
He impacted everyone who saw his photos
Our prayers go out to his family
