Enochsburg farm brings hundreds of tourists every year
(INDIANAPOLIS) -- The Bohman family sold their first Christmas tree in 1976 and the farm has since become a tourism destination every holiday season in Decatur County.
Families come to Enochsburg from as far away as Indianapolis and Cincinnati every year to find the perfect tree before getting dinner at Fireside Inn.
On Tuesday, the Bohman family was one of six Indiana farms invited to deliver a tree to the Indiana Statehouse.
The family placed their Christmas tree in the office of the Indiana Attorney General where it will be displayed through the holidays.
Madelyn Bohman, who serves as Miss Decatur County, joined her family during the event.
"I felt honored to be able to represent not only my county but most importantly my family and the Christmas Tree Farm my grandpa started 55 years ago," Madelyn said. "Family is the most important thing to me and I am grateful for the legacy my family has created."
Madelyn added that she and her sisters are the fifth-generation on the farm and look forward to continuing the family tradition for many more years.
