North Vernon police responded with full force
(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) -- A North Vernon boy got a big surprise from his role models on his birthday!
The surprise comes when 6-year-old Roger Frazier is heavily debating a few different career paths.
"He says he wants to be a cop, and a super hero. However if you had asked him the same question a month ago he wanted to be a bad guy so he can work with the cops," his mother, Morgan, said.
For the past three years, Roger has hosted a lemonade stand where North Vernon police officers occasionally stop by.
With his birthday approaching, his mom reached out to the police department and asked if they would send a birthday card to him.
"All we honestly expected was a few cards but they gave him so much more," Morgan said.
That's when the North Vernon Police Department responded with full force and showed up to his house with gifts.
"He received over 20 cards, with patches, baseball cards of the officers, patches, pins, a paper car, and a coloring book. As well as other gifts from law enforcement outside of North Vernon, and an amazing chocolate cake," said Morgan.
The small gesture from North Vernon police officers might help Roger finally decide whether he should become a cop or a bad guy.
"The fact the police would take time out of their day to not only send him cards but also come visit and spend time with him is amazing," his mom said, "Law enforcement gets such a bad rep and this goes to show not all cops are bad cops."
