Brookville man needs assistance as medical bills mount

Avid hunter that is member of Whitetails Unlimited - West Fork Chapter

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – Cory Hunt is a stronger person than most as he has battled multiple medical issues over his life.

He is a 2-time childhood cancer survivor and had to have a total hip replacement at a young age as well.

The 35-year-old has now encountered another major medical test which has led to two different fundraisers.

He was recently admitted to the hospital due to kidney failure and a low heart function rate. One procedure led to multiple mini-strokes and they found a blood clot in his brain, his wife said.

Cory is now back at home in Brookville with plenty of medical appointments still ahead.

“It’s been a long road but he is the strongest person I’ve ever met,” said his wife, Ashley.

Ashley is no stranger to battles herself as she was diagnosed with cancer one month after Cory and her started dating. She credits him for helping her along her journey.

We’ve met Cory through our friends at Whitetails Unlimited - West Fork Chapter as Cory is an avid hunter and fisherman.

He also works at TOC in Brookville and Ashley is employed with FCN Bank.

There has been a Go Fund Me established which you can click here to learn more and donate.

There is also a donation drive at Cincinnati Employees Credit Union in Harrison. The Hunt’s have been longtime members and they are holding a Split the Pot with tickets available at the main office in Harrison.
