"I’m lucky to have a group of compassionate and caring employees,"
(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- A Brookville woman received an ordinance complaint due to her overgrown lawn.
Brookville Police Chief Terry Mitchum spoke with her about the complaint and found out there was more to the story.
"During my conversation I found out she had been in and out of the of the hospital due to some severe medical issues," Chief Mitchum said.
When some of his officers found out about the situation they wanted to help.
"The next day several off duty officers showed up with their own mowers, weed eaters, and hedge trimmers. The officers spent hours of their own time helping someone in need. I’m proud of these officers," Mitchum said.
