Was called into pitch after rain delay
(PITTSBURGH) – Bryan Hoeing is a reliever who was recently traded from the Miami Marlins to the San Diego Padres.
Hoeing and the Padres are in Pittsburgh where their game started on schedule Tuesday night, but was delayed in the second inning due to rain.
The Padres manager picked Hoeing as the starting pitcher when play resumed, and he did not disappoint.
Hoeing dominated by going more than 3 innings, giving up just one hit, one walk and no earned runs.
His mother, Donna Hoeing, was in attendance and was surprised to see her son get in the game so soon.
