Caucus to replace Sen. Perfect set for Tuesday

At least three candidates will campaign at the caucus

(DILLSBORO, Ind.) -- At least three people are vying to fill the vacant Indiana Senate District 43 seat.


The seat is currently held by State Sen. Chip Perfect, whose resignation will be effective on September 26.


A caucus will held be held at the Dillsboro Civic Center at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12.


The three candidates that we're aware of are Joe Volk, Randy Maxwell and Sam Mortenson.


The individual that wins the caucus will serve the remainder of Sen. Perfect's term which runs through 2026.


District 43 includes Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott and Switzerland counties, and portions of Jennings County.
