College soccer player enlists in National Guard

(AURORA, Ind.) – Jason Hail is a 2023 South Dearborn graduate and currently plays soccer at Mount St. Joseph’s University in Cincinnati. 

His soccer uniform will soon not be the only one he wears. Hail was sworn into the Indiana National Guard on Thursday. 

South Dearborn soccer coach Jonathon Wismann calls Hail one of the best kids he has ever coached. 

“Jason is one of the hardest-working kids around. He has always had a desire to serve his country. It is great that he can go to college, play soccer, and join the National Guard. We will continue to see amazing things from this young man,” Wismann said. 

Wismann added that South Dearborn has had at least one soccer player from every class since 2017 enlist in the military. 

Hail will continue his studies and athletic career at Mount St. Joseph while serving as a Guardsman.
