"It is really cool to see Indiana basketball history like this"
(MILAN, Ind.) -- The Milan 1954 state championship continues to be a Hoosier legend and the museum attracts basketball enthusiasts from across the country.
On Thursday, the museum received a visit from the Columbus North basketball team.
The team was playing in a tournament in Batesville and decided to take a road trip to Milan in between games.
Columbus North sophomore Caleb Ferguson said he had heard about the Milan Miracle before the visit.
Mostly because his assistant coach, Josh Blankenship, is a former Milan coach.
"This has been really cool to see Indiana basketball history firsthand and to see that 1954 bracket of all the teams was awesome," Ferguson said.
The team noticed something unique on the state tournament bracket that is displayed at the museum.
If Columbus would have beaten Crispus Attucks High School, their next opponent would have been Milan!
Following the museum visit, the team went to the high school to check out the new lobby and the Milan gym.
