(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A North Decatur senior is being recognized for his dedication to the community.
Cooper Parmer plays football, basketball and golf for the Chargers and also gives his time to helping others.
As a member of student council, he and classmate Garrett Schwering recently led the initiative to bring back North Decatur’s homecoming parade for the first time in 31 years.
He has also volunteered his time for organizations including On Eagle’s Wings, New Directions, Choppers for Copper’s of St. Adams, and numerous events at St. Catherine of Siena.
Parmer has also supported younger athletes by volunteering during youth football games, working concessions, and serving as a youth flag football coach and referee.
North Decatur school counselor Barb Lecher says Cooper epitomizes what it means to be a a student leader.
“His leadership qualities shine brightly, as he inspires his peers with his dedication and integrity. Cooper's commitment to his studies reflects his determination to excel academically, showcasing his tremendous potential for future success,” Lecher told The 812.
Parmer is considering what college he will attend next year as he plans to major in Finance.
