Effort to preserve historic Central House
(NAPOLEON, Ind.) – Two small business owners are launching a bi-monthly event in order to help a historic Napoleon building.
The Central House was built before the Civil War and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
It now serves as a living history museum and relies solely on donations.
Kelly Tunny owns Blissful Healing and Amber Hudson owns Amber Waves Creations.
The two businesswomen have organized a Community Market at the historic building several times this summer.
“The mission is to offer a space for local small businesses to offer their unique talents. We do this at the Central House so people can explore the building and property. They are really struggling, we wanted to help them while people got to enjoy a piece of local history,” Tunny said.
The community markets will offer natural alternatives, yoga trapeze, crafts, food, and much more.
The first market will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 6.
It will also be open on July 20 along with August 3, August 17 and August 31.
“We decided to join forces to help others, offer something new to the community and hopefully help raise funds to maintain the building for future generations,” Tunny added.
The Central House is located at 3684 West Main Street in Napoleon.
