Loved ones raising funds for her five children
(BRIGHT, Ind.) -- Community members are coming together to help the children of a Dearborn County woman who was killed Monday.
40-year-old Stacy Mondal was allegedly shot by her husband in front of two of their kids, Dearborn County investigators said.
Police say she was shot in a vehicle and died at the hospital. Her husband is currently in jail as prosecutors determine appropriate charges.
Stacy was a mother of five children who range in ages of 17-years-old to 2-months-old.
The five children are currently staying with her father.
"The loss of Stacy has left a void that can never be filled, but we can help ease the burden on her family during this challenging time," said GoFundMe organizer Rachel Reynolds.
Fundraisers have been launched to help the kids who just lost their mother.
A GoFundMe campaign was organized by Rachel Reynolds and has raised more than $3,100 since it started Tuesday.
"The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will go towards providing for the needs and future of her children," Reynolds said.
Jessica Kallmeyer also started a donation drive to provide meals for the children.
"I’m sure the Sullivan’s would appreciate gift cards so they don’t have to worry about meals in these next weeks during this unimaginable nightmare," Kallmeyer said.
You can view the meal train fundraiser by clicking here which has already brought in more than $9,000 since yesterday.
The Lawrenceburg Peewee Tigers are also collecting donations for the children. They are asking for specific items which are:
Size 1 and 3 Diapers
Enfamil Gentle Ease Baby Formula
Baby wipes
Gift cards (specifically Kroger, Amazon and Walmart)
The donations can be dropped off at the Lohmiller Real Estate office at 523 W. Eads Parkway from 9-5 p.m. through Friday.
