Connersville jail escapee captured in Laurel

(LAUREL, Ind.) – An alleged jail escapee from Fayette County was apprehended in Laurel on Tuesday. 

Police say 35-year-old Vincent Brown was on a work-release program when he disappeared. 

Brown “terminated communication” with his ankle monitor on Monday night, Fayette County deputies said. 

Investigators discovered that Brown was hiding out at a home on Little Duck Creek Road in Laurel. 

There was a 90-minute standoff before SWAT members entered the home and took him into custody, police said. 

Brown was charged with Escape and Resisting Law Enforcement and was also terminated from the Community Corrections program.
