Could lead to low visability and hazardous travel conditions
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- The work week will begin with colder weather, gusty winds and possible snow showers.
A winter weather advisory has been issued until 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The Monday morning commute will be normal but the weather will turn for some areas in the afternoon and evening.
Forecasters say upwards of a half inch of snow is possible in Southeast Indiana.
Temperatures will stay in the 30's on Monday with wind gusts of 40 miles per hour possible.
"Forecasters are concerned with the snow squall threat with quick rapidly accumulating snow leading to temperary hazardous travel and reduced visibility. These are scattered, not everyone sees them, which makes it tricky to forecast," said Chad Gutzwiller with WeatherWave.
A snow squall is not a common term most people are used to, but Gutzwiller says a snow squall is what led to a pileup wreck on I-74 in West Harrison a few years ago.
Drivers are encouaged to monitor forecasts and be prepared for the possiblity of quickly detoriating travel conditions.
