Indiana State Police have also sent out a release. One difference from our original report, they say the driver killed in the crash was from Morristown, Ohio.

Original Report:

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – One person was killed in an early morning crash on State Road 3 in Decatur County Wednesday.

The two-vehicle accident happened around 6 a.m. near North Decatur Schools.

The person killed in the crash has been identified as 36-year-old Adam Peters, of New Castle, according to the Decatur County Coroner's Office.

The identity and medical status of occupants in the other vehicle have not been released.

“This was a really difficult, high-impact crash and our thoughts are with the families of all of those involved,” Decatur County Coroner Charity Banks told The 812.

State Road 3 was closed for several hours as investigators worked the crash.

Banks added that incidents like this also take a toll on first responders who work the crash, as well as dispatchers, and wrecker services workers.

The crash is being investigated by the Indiana State Police.
