Corydon's Bryce Gerlach was recognized last month for sportsmanship

Killed in 'senseless violence' shooting

(CORYDON, Ind.) – A southern Indiana community a few hours south of us is grieving an unexpected loss.

18-year-old Bryce Gerlach was an innocent bystander when shots rang out at a community festival in New Albany on Saturday night.

Bryce passed away from his injuries. Police are still searching for the suspects.

Bryce was a standout Corydon Central football player who was recently recognized for going above and beyond during a varsity football game.

Corydon was playing Scottsburg on September 13, when a referee was involved in an on-field collision.

The player that came to check on the referee first, was Bryce.

While we are located a bit up north from Corydon, we are all praying for Bryce's family, friends and the Corydon community.

Go Corydon Central and Go #12
