(VEVAY, Ind.) – Firefighters responded to a residential fire in Vevay early Wednesday morning.
It happened at home near the intersection of Pike and Arch streets.
Jefferson-Craig firefighters say there was a fire in the basement and heavy smoke coming from the home when they arrived.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire but remained on scene until 11:30 a.m. to fully get the fire out.
Jefferson-Craig Fire was assisted by Moorefield Community Fire Department, Switzerland County Emergency Response, Switzerland County Sheriff’s Department, and Switzerland County EMA.
