(BRIGHT, Ind.) -- Cub Scouts and local veterans enjoyed dinner together in Bright on Monday.
The members and parents of Cubscout Pack 693 invited veterans for a homecooked meal to recognize our local heroes on Veterans Day.
There were 28 veterans, representing each military branch, who attended the dinner.
Some of the oldest veterans in attendance sat with the youngest cub scouts for dinner.
"We have an opportunity to say thank you to the veterans in their lives in our own unique way through homemade food and hand crafted gifts," said Cubmaster Aaron Scholle. "More importantly, the scouts have the opportunity to really have a conversation with their veteran, which could be their father, mother, aunt, uncle, grandparent, or family friend."
For the kids, it was an opportunity to not only thank their loved ones, but to also learn what it means to have courage and bravery for our country.
