CUTE: Young QB is not shy about play calling!

Local high school QB's react to revolutionary communication skills

(MILAN, Ind.) -- One attribute that can frustrate local football coaches is a lack of communication from their players.

It's also a problem I have personally witnessed in the workforce. Poor communication can lead to unclear objectives, a lack of morale and unnecessary conflicts.

George Bernard Shaw once said, "The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place."

Well George, meet first grader Emmit Marsh of Milan!

Emmit may be small in stature but he is a giant on the field when it comes to communication.

He not only makes sure teammates can hear him, Emmit makes sure the entire community of Milan is in sync with the offense.

You can enjoy a delicious Icelandic Cod Dinner at The Reservation or cozy up at the bar at the Milan American Legion while hearing the faint sounds of "Down, Set, Hike" on any given Saturday.

Emmit's revolutionary play calling abilities is being noticed by some high school quarterbacks.

We spoke with Batesville's Will Jaisle and East Central's Cole Burton who were both left in awe.

Jaisle said, “You know, Emmit, I’m going to play baseball at Notre Dame but I’m also an Irish football fan and Coach Freeman definitely could have used that voice of yours when we only had 10 players on the field against Ohio State!"

"But in all seriousness the passion and leadership you already have will take you places, keep it up little bro," Jaisle added.

EC's Cole Burton reacted, "My head coach Jake Meiners always talks about good communication but I never understood it until now. Emmit gets it . Honestly this is what real QB cadence sounds like."

But the player who has been inspired the most is none other than Lawrenceburg starting quarterback Logan Ahaus.

On Thursday night, he brought the revolutionary play calling skills to Lawrenceburg's practice.

Watch Here:

It also turns out that Emmit's brother, Wyatt, is the starting quarterback for Milan High School and he had something to say too.

"He gives 110% on every play, every position, and definitely on his banshee cadence haha," Wyatt said.

Great job, Emmit, Southeast Indiana is proud of you and keep up the great work!
