Part of Foundation's annual initiative
(AURORA, Ind.) – The Dearborn Community Foundation has awarded a $1,000 grant to the YES Home.
The YES Home is a residential group home for ages 13-18 that provides a structured, nurturing environment for abused, neglected, and abandoned children.
The grant was recommended by DCF Board Member Dave Lusby as part of the foundation’s initiative of each board member selecting a recipient for the $1K grant.
“YES Home for years has been near and dear to me because of my being in law enforcement,” said Lusby, a former two-term Dearborn County Sheriff. “I’ve learned how YES Home serves youth in our community that are most in need.”
The development of the home was made possible through the Wismann family.
“I know raising funds isn’t easy for an organization like this, so I thought this grant was a great way to help a bit,” said Lusby. “They do so much for young people and families in our community.”
