Contributions will be matched dollar for dollar up
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- The Hospital Foundation of Decatur County in partnership with the Luke O’Mara Foundation have establishment the Remembrance Garden Fund.
The fund will support the creation and continuation of the garden on the Decatur County Memorial Hospital campus.
It will provide a space for those who've been affected by the loss of a child.
“Miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss is prevalent in our community and this garden recognizes that and provides the physical space for families to reflect, remember and find comfort in knowing they are not alone,” Amy O’Mara said.
Contributions made to the garden will be matched dollar for dollar up to $20,000, and will allow the project to be fully funded. Monies in addition to the creation of the garden will allow for potential add-ons to the space, and projects related to infant loss support in the community.
“The Remembrance Garden Fund is an important addition to our current walking trail,” said
Mandy Lohrum, Director for the Foundation, “and the Foundation is so grateful for generous community members. This garden will impact so many lives in our community and allow for a space to reflect.”
Donations can be made online at dcmh.net/foundation or through the Foundation office, located at 720 N. Lincoln Street, Greensburg, IN 47240. The foundation can be reached at (812) 663-1220.
