Judge receives plaque for service to area veterans
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- Dearborn County has a Veterans Treatment Court which provides a second chance for those who have served our nation in uniform.
The Veteran's Court helps veterans who are struggling and end up on the wrong side of the law.
The program can help veterans improve their lives by "working closely with the treatment team to achieve your recovery goals, develop job skills, connect to available VA services, rebuild family and community ties, live a drug and crime free life, stabilize your living situation, and reconnect with positive veteran peers."
The court marked it's 10th anniversary on Tuesday and the presiding judge was honored.
Judge Jonathon Cleary was presented with a plaque from local veterans to celebrate the occasion.
He was given the plaque by Pat McClanahan. Others who were in attendance included Mike LaFollette, Dave Currence, Jeff Nagel, Jason Unger, PG Gentrup, Tim Albright, Marty Sizemore, Dolores Chalker, George Richards, Seana Creech, Peter Johns, Jake Hawkins, Dave Lusby, Shari James and Carrie Combs.
