Decatur Co. animal shelter at max capacity

Shelter hopes to see increase in adoptions

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- The animal shelter in Greensburg has reached maximum capacity and the associates are hoping local families can help with adoptions.

"We need the community's help getting these animals into homes," the shelter said.

There are currently 18 dogs and 78 cats that are at the Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter.

According to their website, "In spite of space limitations, our euthanasia percentage is less than half the national average due largely to our wonderful volunteers."

The shelter is open 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and open on Saturday's from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"Please stop by and look at what we have. Our animals are counting on you," the shelter added.

Adoptions are not limited to Decatur County residents as anyone can stop by. The shelter is located at 1635 West Park Road in Greensburg.
