Decatur Co. teen's dog returned safely after being stolen Wednesday

Teen says the dog was dehydrated but now safe

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – It is a good ending to a disturbing story that happened today in Decatur County.

18-year-old Paige Paton reached out to The 812 on Wednesday evening with an urgent request.

She said her dog, Harley, was taken from her house around 2 p.m. today.

“They stopped in my front yard and picked him up,” Paige told us.

The incident occurred at a home in the 9000 block of South County Road 420 West, which is near South Decatur Elementary.

Within thirty minutes of the story being public, Paige had gotten word that the dog would be returned.

She says an adult dropped Harley off at the house, and the dog initially had to drink a lot of water.

Paige is thanking community members for sharing the post about her beloved dog.

"I really want to thank everyone for sharing the post. Harley is safe and home now , thank you all," she told The 812.
