Docs Coffee celebrates ribbon cutting

Mobile cafe serves Dearborn, Franklin and Ripley counties

(DOVER, Ind.) -- A new mobile coffee shop cut the ribbon with the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce Thursday night.

Family and friends of Docs Coffee gathered to celebrate the unique business at Eight Top Grill.

Docs Coffee is owned by Taylor Anne Knueven who recently retired from the U.S. Army after serving as a medic for ten years.

"When I was getting out of the Army, I thought about what I wanted to do and knew it wasn't medicine anymore, so I landed on the idea of coffee," Knueven said.

She came up with the concept of a mobile cafe and the name of the business pays homage to her Army background.

"As a medic, they call you doc which is a term of endearment in your unit. And everyone knows Army medics have the best coffee out in the field," she laughed.

Taylor has hit the road over the past few months in Dearborn and Franklin County and has plans to serve Ripley County in 2024.

Docs Coffee is open to the public when you see their trailer in your community. You can also place online orders by clicking here.

The coffee shop on wheels is also available by request for businesses and private events.

For Taylor, the business goes far beyond just providing a quick, convenient cup of coffee.

"We're trying to spread energy not only through caffeine, but through positivity and relationships," she said. "This my way of continuing to serve others through quality coffee, positive interactions, and teaming up to help others achieve their goals!"

Taylor and her husband, Ben, who currently serves in the Army, reside in Sunman with their two children.
