Scammers even target high school football fans
(SOUTHEAST INDIANA) – We’ve shared this before but feel it’s appropriate to remind residents as high school football starts up Friday.
Do not be tricked by those Facebook posts that have a link to watch the game.
When you see those, the first question to ask yourself is if you recognize the person or organization’s name who posted it. There is no shortage of accounts posting these and there goal is to trick you.
Where can you watch games? Through the IHSAA Champions Network and this is their link.
In addition, some local programs have games that appear on YouTube. East Central Fans have Trojan Media Productions which you can follow them here.
WTRE live streams games for Greensburg, North and South Decatur and you can visit their page by clicking here.
Otherwise, that is all the options available to the best of our knowledge. Utilize your teams existing social media accounts as they will only share legitimate links.
What to do if you click on a bad link? My suggestion is to first not give any payment. Secondly, you should immediately change your Facebook password and click "log out of all devices."
The 812 will of course be covering the games this year as well by posting final scores on Friday nights.
