Driver convicted in crash that killed Brookville man

Moore was member of the Franklin County School Board

(LIBERTY, Ind.) – A well-known Brookville man was killed when he was struck by a car near Liberty in 2021.

42-year-old Justin Moore was employed with the Union County Highway Department.

His crew was shoveling gravel along West Clifton Road when a vehicle left the roadway and struck Moore and another worker. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was driven by 38-year-old Gina Price. Investigators say she had fentanyl and methadone in her system at the time of the accident.

Earlier this week, a Union County jury found Price guilty of three felonies during the trial.

She was convicted of causing death when operating while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a fatality crash, and reckless driving cause death.

A sentencing date has been scheduled for February 19.

Moore served on the Franklin County School Board and was a member of multiple community organizations.
