Driver lifelined after crash near Letts

Volunteer firefighters extricated victim

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- One person was aircared after a single-vehicle crash in Decatur County on Tuesday afternoon


Around 2 p.m., volunteer firefighters from the Letts Fire Department were dispatched to the accident.


It happened near State Road 3 and County Road 500 South.


The car crashed into a tree and the driver was removed from the car by firefighters.


Once removed from the car, the driver was taken by Decatur County EMS to the Greensburg airport.


"Letts units assisted DCEMS in treatment and driving the ambulance to the Greensburg Municipal Airport to meet the medical helicopter," a firefighter said.


The driver was flown to a hospital and their current condition has not been released.
