Dry, windy conditions create increase burning concerns

Fayette County issues burn ban

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – One local county has issued a burn ban as others are saying outdoor fires are not recommended this week.

Fayette County issued a Burn Ban Tuesday due to dry conditions and gusty winds. It will remain in effect until the county receives sufficient rainfall.

That is the only county in our area to have a burn ban, however officials like Ripley County EMA are recommending citizens to avoid starting fires through Wednesday night.
