(GREENDALE, Ind.) --The new Dunkin' Donuts location in Greendale is giving back to local students.

The store donated $5,000 to Lawrenceburg School's Kindness Fund on Friday.

The Kindness Fund is a program within each Lawrenceburg school building which offers assistance to a student or family in need.

"So if there is a student that needs help with field trip cost, or if a student needs shoes or clothing, then we're able to reach out and utilize those funds," said Superintendent Karl Galey.

The new Dunkin' location is on U.S. 50 next to Mike's Car Wash and is owned by siblings Brian Benhase and Jennifer Workman.

This is their 11th Tri-State location and they put a focus on giving back in the communities they serve.

"We like to help with child hunger, food pantry programs, and this contributes to that too. So it's a good first step for us to get involved and hopefully we can do a lot more with them," Brian Benhase said.

The store is celebrating their Grand Opening Friday by also giving free coffee and donuts to customers,
