EC and Lburg's Brayden’s team up for unique cause

Updated: Apr 25

Friends come together for sick children

(CINCINNATI) – It’s a rivalry whenever East Central and Lawrenceburg take the field against each other.

But, it is always clear that there are great kids on both sides of the ball.

Lawrenceburg senior Brayden Combs and East Central senior Brayden Rouse recently teamed up to make a difference for children.

The teens held a Candy Drive where they accepted donations to create bags of candy for kids at the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati.

They raised more than $400 to create 192 bags of candy that they hand-delivered themselves.

The 812 spoke with both Brayden’s who said they were honored to give back to others.

“It’s a great feeling knowing I’m contributing to making someone feel better and ultimately should always want to help even if it’s something little as making candy bags because putting a smile on someone’s face can go a long way,” Brayden Combs said.

Rouse said, “Brayden and I have known each other for awhile and have grown up around each other. To get out in our community and give to kids who don’t get a lot and don’t have everything we have, really means a lot to us and to the kids.”

Combs and Rouse have both have successful athletic careers in high school. Combs has played football and track for Lawrenceburg, while Rouse has played football, wrestling and baseball for the Trojans.
